Assuming that you mean a bigger font, in the mail merge main document, press
Alt+F9 to toggle on the display of the field codes and add a \* charformat switch inside the closing }, removing the \* mergeformat switch if there is one and then apply the desired font formatting to the M of MERGEFIELD. Then Alt+F9 again to toggle off the display of the field codes and execute your merge. -- Hope this helps.
