A user I support is experiencing sporadic light blue and dark blue
highlighing in table cells when he types. It is not due to table style or cell shading. He has a plain (white background with black text) cell selected, and when he starts typing the row is highlighted in blue - sometimes a light shade and sometimes a dark shade. It makes the text very difficult to see at times. Happens spordically. When he clicks out of the cell to finish his editing the highlighting disappears. |

If this is Word 2007, this is caused by having specific buttons on the QAT;
those buttons include "Different First Page" and "Different Odd and Even." If the user has those buttons on the QAT, he could try removing them to see if it clears the problem. If not, he could try removing other buttons one at a time to see which one is causing the problem. -- Suzanne S. It sounds as a known problem caused by having certain buttons added to the
Quick Access Toolbar (QAT). Buttons known to cause blue shading in table cells are €śDifferent first page€ť and €śDifferent odd and even€ť. If the user has one or both of these buttons added, try to remove them. If that does not solve the problem, try to remove any other buttons added to the QAT one by one to see whether that helps. -- Regards Lene Fredborg - Microsoft MVP (Word) DocTools - Denmark www.thedoctools.com Document automation - add-ins, macros and templates for Microsoft Word "welstechtrainer" wrote: A user I support is experiencing sporadic light blue and dark blue highlighing in table cells when he types. Sorry for my previous blank post.
If the blue table problem is in Word 2003 then it may be linked to the document map style. If you view custom styles and find that the document map style has a blue background, you can try removing it via modify style borders. Why the document map style is being applied to the tables, I do not know! Katie |
