Default Word File was deleted by software while attempting to save

If there is insufficient space on the flash drive for the document and/or
its temporary files, it will be lost. Never ever read from, write to, or
print from removable media with Word. Always work from the hard drive and
COPY to and from the flash drive - see the relevant macro at

I had a word document that I had saved on my flashdrive several times.
However, on the last save attempt, Microsoft Word 2007 indicated it
could not save the file and deleted it from my flash drive
completely! I wasn't able to recover the file using any of the tips
that Microsoft Office has on its website because the file does not
appear. However, I did see that it attempted to save the document in
my "My Documents" folder as a "Rescued Document" text file.
Unfortunately, I only see weird symbols when I open that file.

Is there any hope of recovering me word document? I appreciate any
advice.

Thank you in advance.
