Default Unnumbering TOC Creation

this site taught to me about unnumbered TOC's. I use Word 2007. Now I need
to create more numbered TOCs because the style box either has none or not
enough.

How do I create other unnumbered TOC's and showing in the style box?

Please clarify. Are you asking about TOCs or parts of TOCs without page
numbers, about numbered and unnumbered headings to be included in a TOC, or
about linking outline numbering to TOC styles?

Thank you. I have an already ¶ numbered document and do not want automatic
numbering. But, in not using the Headings on the Style Panel, there are
styles on the panel that say just TOC and are not numbering, but simply
includes the heading in the TOC, with page number and dotted leaders. It
puts in the TOC just the heading, including the ¶ number already. The TOC on
the styles were already there, and now I want to create a few more.

The TOC styles are those used in a table of contents generated by Insert |
Reference | Index and Tables | Table of Contents. The TOC styles are not
numbered by default. A TOC field, however, pulls headings directly from the
document, so if the heading styles are numbered, then the TOC entries will
also be numbered. There are 9 levels of heading styles and 9 levels of TOC
styles, and you cannot create more.

The answer is to open the paragraph dialog box and at the top under outline
assign the selected text to the level you want and it brings the selected
text into the TOC. "Formating Legal Documents with MS word 2007"

I'm glad you found a solution since your problem description was not clear
enough for anyone to figure out what you were asking for. Yes, you can
include any style in a TOC by assigning an outline level other than Body
Text either in the TOC Options dialog or in the Format Style dialog. You can
also include specific paragraphs by setting the outline level of the
paragraph higher than Body Text (all provided "Outline levels" is checked in
the TOC Options).
