Hello;
I hope this is posted to the appropriate group. If not can you please tell me where I should post this question? I have a form with some protected sections that is seventeen pages long. The protected sections contain a lot of tables with calculated fields. Before it is filled in the file is 5.48 MB. After it is completed it can be much longer and grow exponentially in size. I have received calls from staff members who say the file grows so large that it takes a long time to save (five minutes at times), sometimes Word crashes and they have a hard time attaching it to our client information system because it exceeds size restrictions imposed by the CIS application. Because some sections are protected there is also code in the back end to enable the spell check feature. So far the only work around we have found is to unlock the document (which we would prefer not to do) copy and paste the content into a new document. The new document is small enough to be attached to the CIS but the calculations no longer work and the document is unprotected. Is there any way I could keep the file size down so it wont grow extremely large and cause problems? Thanks, Nadine |

If you just protect the document to which you copied, the form fields should
work again. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Nadine" wrote in message ... Hello; I hope this is posted to the appropriate group. If not can you please tell me where I should post this question?
