It is not possible to switch the Style that includes the chapter number in
the Caption Numbering dialog. The same Style must be used for each caption label in the document. That is they must all be of the form of Table 1-1, Table 2-1 But you can mix across different label types Table 2-1, Figure 2a-1 -- Hope this helps, Doug Robbins - Word MVP Please reply only to the newsgroups unless you wish to obtain my services on a paid professional basis. "questions?" wrote in message ... I have a document using heading 1 as Chapter 1, Chapter 2, then Chapter 2a, Chapter 2b, Chapter 2c, then Chapter 3, Chapter 4, etc. I used a different style for the chapters numbered 2a - 2c in order to be able to reflect the subs, but within the Chapter 2 subs, I have tables and figures (Table 2a-1, Table 2a-2, and Figure 2a-1, Figure 2a-2). How can I get my captions to auto number according to my chapter 2 subsections? Thus far, I'm having to do them manually and there are tons of them...so, this is not how I'd like to continue to do these. Thank you! |
