If you insert the TOC *after* setting your margins, this shouldn't happen,
as the right tab stop is set dynamically when the TOC is created. But it is not adjusted if you change the margins, so you have to do it manually. If you can see and grab it on the ruler, you can drag it back to your right margin. Otherwise, you'll need to do it through the Tabs dialog. Since TOC styles are set to update automatically, you need do it only once for a single entry at each level, and the rest will follow suit. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA http://word.mvps.org "guitarguy" wrote in message ... I love the table of contents feature in ms word 2007. However, I am writing a book that is in a 6x9 format (margins adjusted a per the lulu.com template) when I insert the table of contents for this 6x9 book, the numbers for the table fly off the page all the way to the right as if it were your standard 8.5x11 page. How can I allign the numbers to the right margin of the 6x9 book? I tried doing it manually with periods or dashes, but they never light up correctly, and it's quite frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |
