You need this syntax:
{ MERGEFIELD firstname }{ IF { MERGEFIELD spouse } = "" "" " and { MERGEFIELD spouse }" } All fields must be inserted either using Insert | Field (or the button on the Mail Merge toolbar) or by pressing Ctrl+F9 to insert the field delimiters (the things that look like braces but can't be entered from the keyboard) and then typing between them. -- Suzanne S. I know this has probably been covered but I can't find it so thanks in advance for the help. I would like to add a spouse in a mail merge. Example: firstname and spouse lastname But if the spouse doesn't exist I need to know how to eliminate the "and" and extra spaces. Thanks -Lenox |
