I've gone through everything posted here and I still have strike thru's and
red text. It looks like x-mas! when I try to accept or remove changes I get a
msg there is nothing to accept.

Perhaps the document was marked up with something other than Word's Track
Changes feature, such as DeltaView.

Have you tried the Accept All Changes in Document command (in Word 2007,
you'll find it on the Review tab, if you click the Accept button in the
Changes group)?
