I am using Word for Mac 2011, version 14.2.3 using OSX 10.8.1. The spellchecker has stopped highlighting misspellings and grammar mistakes automatically. With each document that I bring up (whether or not I have done this procedure before), I have to go to ToolsLanguage and reset the language to U.S. English and uncheck the box that says "Do Not Check Spelling or Grammar."
I have looked at all the preferences and settings, and have not been able to find a way to make it go back to checking automatically. Any ideas? |

You could try opening the normal.dotm template (or whatever the Mac
version is called) -- you have to do that with the Office button (or equivalent) and "Open Template" command, and fix the settings there.
