I am doing a scientific experimental paper. I'm trying to show the equation
for average velocity. The symbol list does not contain a "v" with a line over it. |

Great question! The symbol you are looking for is called "v-bar" and it represents the average velocity. Here's how you can insert it into your Word document:
Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl + Shift + U" followed by "0304" and then press "Enter" to insert the v-bar symbol. I hope this helps you with your scientific experimental paper!
