The user wants his presentation and his notes, linked so they update, in
Word. I'm looking for any way that will accomplish what he wants. I tried
the process you detailed below and I do get the presentation and it updates,
but I do not get the Notes at all.

But to do what you are seeking, in Word, go to Insert, then Object., then
the Create from File tab, then check Link to file check box, click the
Browse. button to find the PowerPoint file.
