Default word 2002 says to insert cd-rom suddenly

My copy of word 2002 suddenly started doing a "Preparing to install" routine
and then asking me to insert a cdrom -
I can cancel this each time and then word will start, but I would like to
get rid of this glitch.
I think it has something to do with telling the system that I want word to
run off the hard disk and not the cdrom, but I don't know how to do this.
Thanks for help

Default

When it suddenly starts prompting out of the blue, it's usually because of
registry corruption, or because you installed something as "Install on first
use".

If it's a registry issue, the instructions on deleting the Data key in the
following link will help:

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...peningWord.htm

If it's an "Install on first use" issue, try Start - Settings - Add/Remove
Programs - Microsoft Office, etc. and take a look to see if any features are
set up for first use install.
