Hi Curious-
Word doesn't change that unless someone has 'taught' it to. It sounds like it has been added to AutoCorrect. The next time it happens move your mouse pointer the bottom of the word and look for the little SmartTag to appear. Click it and choose the option to 'Stop automatically correcting...', or (if you don't want to wait) you can go to ToolsAutoCorrect Options--AutoCorrrect page & locate the entry in the list. Click to select it then click the Delete button. If that isn't the answer, it may have been added to the Dictionary. Post back if that is the case.
