Default Spellcheck stopped working

Hello

I have MS word 2002 and suddenly spell check has stopped working. I
have tried rebooting, unchecking and rechecking options but still it
doesn't work. A manual spell check of the words also ignores all
spelling mistakes.

Does anyone know how I may correct this?

TIA

Ctrl+A, Tools | Language | Set Language: make sure the correct language is
selected and that "Do not check spelling or grammar" is not checked.
