I am working on a word document using tracking changes and saving all changes
I shut down. This morning when i opened the document the colours for the
different reviewers had changed so. How do I rest the colours back to the
original.

When you select "By Author" as the color for tracked changes, you ensure
that each reviewer will have a different color but there is no way to select
which color will be assigned to which reviewer. You can pretty much
guarantee, though, that it will differ from one machine to another, as each
reviewer/author will usually get the "default" color (red or blue) as
his/her color, with the other colors assigned to the other reviewers.

If you are saying that the colors for the different reviewers
have all changed to the same color when you reopen the document,
then in Word 2002 or 2003 click on Tools | Options | Security |
uncheck the "Remove personal information from file properties on
save" box | OK.
