Made a template with a header/footer, saved as a template following all info
from word help. When I open the template, there is no visible header footer
until I click header footer in the View section. I have done this many times
but all of a sudden I find the header footers missing unless I click in View.
Please help.

Try moving your cursor to just below the end of a page--at this point the
cursor will change. When it does, click once, and this will show your
headers/footers (and you can do the same thing again to hide them if you
wanted to).
