Default Remove datasource from Word document

I want to remove the recipients and the datasource completely from a Word
document - previously used in an aborted attempt to mail merge the document
to email (the e-mail field does not appear in the contacts list - anotehr
open question on this).

How can I return the document to a normal one - without the datasource box
coming up every time you open it.

I cannot mail merge from Outlook (my plan b) while this is attached.

Thanks
Lou

Default Remove datasource from Word document

Open your mail merge main document and then from the Mailings tab, Click on
the Start Mail Merge pulldown and then on Normal Word Document from the list
of available choices. Then save the document.

Hope this helps.

I infer this advice is relevant to Word 2007. (I know of no Word 2003
Mailings tab.) What is the corresponding advice for Word 2003?

Yes, the post to which I was responding concerned 2007 (based on another
post from the same person.

In Word 2003, it would be somewhere in ToolsLetters and MailingsMail
Merge. Sorry, I do not have access to a machine with 2003 on it at the
moment so cannot give you more precise instructions.

Default Very Urgent

while saving OLEObject from the SQL DB to a physical file(.doc) it opens the MS Word and displays the error
?word could not merge the main document with the data source because the data records were empty?

Used the following code:
OLE1.object.SaveAs strDir & "\" & strFileName & ".doc"

Need to save it silently without opening anything
