Default Header Rows Will Not Repeat

For years I've been merrily making header rows in my tables repeat on
subsequent pages. Today is the day that I cannot make it happen. Perhaps
there's a grimlin in my software, or just a hex on me...

But whatever the reason, I cannot perform this simple task. Can anyone tell
me why, after years of accomplishing this step with ease, I cannot make it
happen today?

Any info will be greatly appreciated!

Default Header Rows Will Not Repeat

Things to check:

Table Table Properties Table tab Text Wrapping must be set to None.
The table must have no page breaks (which will actually split the table into
more tables).
Make sure that you have only the first row(s) and not the entire table set
as heading rows.
The heading row(s) must be the first row(s) in the table.

Lene, my hero...

I didn't realize that the text wrapping must be set to NONE. Bingo!
Everything's now as it should be, and my header repeats flawlessly. Thanks a
million!

I have spent ages on trying to solve the same problem in Office 2007,
turning off the text wrapping solved it.

These forums are great

Default Header Rows Will Not Repeat

This is a very common problem if you work on tables in Print Layout view.
The slightest nudge of the table handle will cause the table to become
wrapped.

Ah! Thanks, Lene

I've been going nuts over the same issue in Word 2007. I'll check out the
text wrap issue.

Default Header Rows Will Not Repeat

I have weird behaviour in some tables using Word 2007. The header repeats on
some pages and not on others. It doesn't seem to make any difference what the
settings are. Text wrapping, allow to break, even the repeat header rows
setting! Also the table style properties settings don't seem to make any
difference. I'm really getting frustrated with this behaviour. Are any of you
aware of bugs in word 2007 in this area or have I missed something out? I
have never had these problems in earlier versions of word.

Thanks a lot in advance.

'Text Wrapping' is only an option on TableTable PropertiesCell - even if I
select the whole table and turn it off, I still don't get repeating headers.

On the Table tab of Table properties, there is a choice between "Around" and
"None." You want the latter.

thanks, but still no dice. I tried it both native 07 and compatibility mode.
The table was imported from Excel (copy/paste) could that be it?

I have tried all of these things and more, and I still can't get my header
row to repeat on each page.

This was really really helpful... I have pulled my hair out, shook the
monitor, stomped the floor, while all the time I should have just been
wrapping the text!

Thank you Lene, whoever you are!
