Where to file a complaint about Word 2004?
A couple months ago I posted a thread about the unusual new spacing
between words (not letters) in Word 2004 for Macinntosh. I had written a screenplay in a previous version of Word (1996?) which was 111 pages long, but when I opened it in Word 2004 it was 120 pages long. Many people came forward with suggestions, but none worked. Daiya was very kind to go so far as to post two examples of this extreme change online: A "Before" Example: http://daiya.mvps.org/Images/courierX.gif and an 2004 Example: http://daiya.mvps.org/Images/courier2004.gif Notice that in her example, in just the first line alone, a seven letter word is pushed to the next line, and in just the one small paragraph -- the last four-five words -- 28 characters in all, have disappeared. The spacing looks awkward, the words stacked like bricks rather than flowing in lines of sentences, but more importantly, they have forced me and other writers to go back to Word 2003 or earlier. I'd like to register a complaint with the programmers at Microsoft about this issue. Where and how do I go about doing this so that someone will actually take it seriously? Thanks Dan |
