Why does my entire document underline when I underline one word?
Using Word 2003 SP3, Normal style.
When I underline one word ... the entire document underlines (or italicizes or bolds). I can correct the behaviour by clicking on Undo ... the unwanted underlines disappear. This is irritating and will eventually corrupt large documents. Has anybody experienced this ... and what's the solution? -- Tom B. |

You might check to see if you have Automatically Update selected in the
Normal style in your template. (This check box instructs Word to apply a style change to all instances of the style in the document.) From the menu, select Format, Styles and Formatting. Select the arrow next to the Normal style and select Modify from the menu. At the Modify Style screen, unmark Automatically Update check box. "BuckeyeTom" wrote: Using Word 2003 SP3, Normal style.
