Default Delay in Saving a doc to Word or Excel

When I attempt to use File, Save As to save a Word or Excel doc it takes 10
seconds for the window to open up. Then another 10 seconds for the next
window to open up and so on until I finally reach my destination folder to
save it. My computer shop cannot figure it out, Norton AV tech support can't
figure it out, nor anyone else I know. It takes me forever to save a
document. If anyone has had this problem and can help me I sure would
appreciate it. I'm using windows XP Pro, Office 10, a 3.2 gig processor with
lots of space and 1 gig of RAM. Can anyone help me?
