taskpane settings
With Office 2003, how do I set it so that when I open Word the "home"
taskpane is "new document" instead of "getting started"? How do I turn off the check online feature of the taskpane? I found something about this in the help file, but it doesn't really say how to set it so Word won't check online for anything. thanks, ck |

I can tell you how to suppress the Getting Started task pane (get the Task
Pane Controller from http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...owTaskPane.htm if clearing the "Show at startup" box doesn't work), but that won't guarantee that the New Document pane will be displayed (I suspect it won't). As for the online options, press F1 to open the generic Help pane, then click on Online Content Settings and clear whatever check boxes look promising to you. -- Suzanne S.
