Word 2003, mail merge disabled when doc opened in Internet Explore
A VB6 application that I am supporting uses the web browser control to
view/edit word documents from inside the application. One of the main features of this application is to provide the user with mail merge functionality without having to launch Word separately. This approach has been working fine for years - right up until Word 2003. It appears that if you have Word 2003 and you open a Word document with the web browser control or Internet Explorer itself, the mail merge toolbar will be disabled. Is there a work-around for this? I have tried the SQLSecurityCheck registry key but all it does is prevent the prompt "Opening this will run the following SQL..." from popping up. The problem is occuring with Windows 2000 and Windows XP with Word 2003. |
