I have lost the row at top of Woed documents only which has file, view, tools
etc. on it. Could you please assist with how i get this row back?

Open another office program such as Excel. Click on Help and do a "Detect
and Repair" from that program. Check the box that says Discard my customised
settings. It will fix the problem in 'Word".
