Merge drops random records
I am trying to help out my wife with this one. She is running Word
2007, merging from an SQL source, over Citrix, if it makes a difference. I watched her do this a couple of times, and she seems to be doing everything correct. This particular dataset returns 15 records. Basic name and address stuff. Look at the records, all looks good, no weird data, no problem, No errors. However, When you choose to complete the merge and preview or edit the results, you only get about 8 letters. It drops out records out with no discernable pattern. This is with a pre-existing letter, and when she starts over from scratch. Any Ideas? |

Merge drops random records
Are there any Next Record fields anywhere in the mail merge main
document? -- Hope this helps. Please reply to the newsgroup unless you wish to avail yourself of my services on a paid consulting basis. Doug Robbins - Word MVP "Phil Smith" wrote in message ... Merge drops random records
It is a one page document, with various fields and text in it. I
believe there is a next record at the end after the "Sincerely, Jane Doe" part. Is this wrong? Where would you put that particular field? Thanx Doug Robbins - Word MVP wrote: Are there any Next Record fields anywhere in the mail merge main document? |

Merge drops random records
For a Letter type mail merge, no Next Record field is necessary UNLESS
you want to skip records. -- Hope this helps. Please reply to the newsgroup unless you wish to avail yourself of my services on a paid consulting basis.
