Default Edit Label Layout

Using the Tools, Letters and Mailings, Envelopes and Labels command, I select
the label I want to use. I have to manually change the paragraph formatting
(highlight the address and right click, select paragraph), every time I use
the label. Trying to change the margins or creating a custom label doesn't
work.

Is there any way to "save" my new paragraph settings within the label
definition?

Thank!!

Hi ?B?bW9tMnRocmVl?=,

The paragraph settings usually come through from the Normal template.

My suggestion would be to set up a label "page" (with no text) to just the way
you want it. Then File/Save As as a "Word Template (*.dot)" file. This should
put the template in your templates collection (what you get if you File/New and
look at the templates on "My computer"). Just select that and whammy! you get a
new document with the page of labels, ready to go.

We already have that set up, but what the users want is for the template in
the envelopes and labels command to be set up this way so they can
automatically generate labels for letters they have typed with fewer steps

Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks

Well, when creating a Label, Word uses the Normal style as defined in the
Normal.dot template. Since this is the default for all new documents (unless
the document is created from a specific template) I suspect your users would
like this approach even less. But that's the only other option. If you can get
them to use other templates for writing the letters, then that would work.
