Default What is smart paragraph selection and smart cursoring

Word 2007/Word Options/Advanced - what is "use smart paragraph selection" and
"use smart cursoring." Only thing I see in Help is a reference to SmartArt
graphic.

Essentially, the paragraph selection option makes sure that when you select
a paragraph, you also get its paragraph mark. Sometimes you do want this,
sometimes you don't, and the reasons may seem a bit obscure. The biggest
reason to include the paragraph mark is when you're about to apply a
paragraph style, to ensure that you don't apply just the "linked" character
style part of it. (Yes, I know that may sound like gibberish.) It would be
better to learn to work with nonprinting characters, or at least paragraph
marks, visible at all times, and just select the paragraph marks when it's
necessary; leave the option turned off.

Smart cursoring has to do with leaving the cursor in one place but using the
arrow keys to move around the screen in another place. I consider it
useless.
