How should I keep changes (space to show style name) to word view?
In the tutorial written by Charles Kyle Kenyon in http://addbalance.com/ he
mentions how to show styles of each paragraph in outline view through: tools/options/ view/ tab/ space to show style name. Which its default value is 0 mm I did it onces to see the result and then I returned to default value of 0 mm. However now every time I open the word in outline, that column appear in far left and I have to close it manually. I though if I make changes to option and close the word, it will keep the last changes. How should I keep changes to word view? -- Rasoul Khoshravan Azar Civil Engineer Osaka, Japan |

How should I keep changes (space to show style name) to word view?
Hi Khoshravan,
Interesting problem you state he I can reproduce it on my Dutch Word version, while my English version works fine. Perhaps this is included in some fix somewhere. Anyway. Switch to Outline View, and reset the style area width to 0 mm. Switch to Normal View. The original style area width is retained. Reset it to 0 mm. Close Word. Things should be normal when you start Word again. Good luck, Cooz -- PS: If this is a satisfying answer to your question and you're logged in via the Microsoft site, please click Yes to "Did this post answer the question?". Thanks. ingDear Cooz
Thanks for your reply. I did so and after input 0 mm I closed the option window, returned to general view (the only step I didn't do in previous solution) and close the word. However it didn't ask for save, which means it didn't accept the changes and the next time they were right there again!?!. So your comments didn't solve my problem. PS) As you mentioned in your PS, I will push YES for you to go one step toward MVP but in the mean time I would like to ask if you can give any other comments to solve the problem. I think this might be explained somewhere in the Internet. -- Rasoul Khoshravan Azar Civil Engineer Osaka, Japan "Cooz" wrote: Hi Khoshravan, Interesting problem you state he I can reproduce it on my Dutch Word version, while my English version works fine. Word doesn't prompt to change Options settings. If they are not being saved,
see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissingMenusEtc.htm for information on how to rebuild the Word Data key. -- Suzanne S.
