Default Switches for Fields

Does anyone know what the switch or syntax is to get a fieldcode to
automatically update itself?
I am creating a Word 2003 template. I have the fieldcode for filename in the
footer, but when a doc is generated from the template, the field does not
auto-update.

All I found in Help was this & my users wont be happy having to do this
manually.
A field is displaying the wrong information.

To update the field results (field results: Text or graphics inserted in a
document when Microsoft Word carries out a field's instructions. When you
print the document or hide field codes, the field results replace the field
codes.), click the field, and then press F9. If the information still isn't
updated, the field might be locked. To unlock the field, click it, press
CTRL+SHIFT+F11, and then press F9 again.

Thanks,
-Monica

The field will not update automatically. You'll need to add code to update
it. There's an example at http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm
