Default Word doc to Adobe PDF

BK shared this with us in microsoft.public.word.newusers:

Thanks for the information. I was at a loss as to where to start.
Everything I found doing a web search seemed to point to the purchase
of a third-party converter. I'll give your suggestions a try.

Thanks ------------- Bonnie

Also nice to know: OpenOffice (www.openoffice.org) is a free Office
suite (from Sun), you can do most things in OpenOffice that you do now
in MS Office (OO supports MS Word and Excel files, for example).
An OpenOffice can save files to PDF, without any special conversion
software.
