Prevent Save
Can you please tell me if it's possible to prevent someone from saving a copy
of my Word document. Either saving over the top or a new copy? I look forward to hearing from anyone who can help. |

No, it isn't possible. You can make it more difficult, but you can't prevent it if the other party is both knowledgeable and determined. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org |

Realistically, no, so long as that person can read the document, they can
save a copy. You could make it difficult but I can't think of anything that could be done that I couldn't get around in less than two minutes. With sufficient network file control, you could certainly keep someone from saving to the same name in the same folder. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://www.mvps.org/word which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup.
