restore my paste options button
This is driving me up the wall! I have MS Office Student and Teacher Edition
2003 (high school student in the house). Installed on a PC and on a laptop. PC runs Windows XP Media Center Edition SP 2, laptop runs Windows XP Pro. Problem is when I copy and paste text and graphics to an MS Word document on the laptop, it is converted to the format of the receiving document, which I most definitely do not want. The paste options button does not show up at all when I paste items. I already have gone to tools-options-edit, and the check is in the box to show the paste options button and the smart cut and paste. In fact, the settings are the same in both the PC and the laptop, but on the PC, its working correctly and on the laptop it is not. I've run the repair on the laptop office installation. That hasn't helped. When we got the PC a while back, it did have this edition of Office installed as a trial and I purchased the hardcopy installation disk. The laptop, just purchased June/08 had MS Office 2007 installed as a trial. I made sure to completely uninstall all the features in the Add/Remove programs and the installation of my paid for 2003 edition seemed to go without a hitch. Can someone tell me a simple way to fix this, it is mega-annoying and inconvenient. I found one solution online, but the solution could only be viewed by signing up for a 'free trial' of something, and when I clicked on the button to look further, my browser warned that the page was insecure, so I backed out. Thanks! |

Thanks! You know what? After HOURS of fighting with this, I realized the problem is with the fact that I was using the Opera 9.52 browser. When I copy and paste from Firefox or IE 7 or from one MS Word doc to another, things work exactly the way they are supposed to. So I guess no reply necessary. I'm talking to the Opera folks to see what I can do about this. But I suspect I'll be changing browsers. Live and learn, eh? |
