Default Office XP -Word message add in template is not valid

When I check on a template Word opens with a blank screen and the message add
in template is not valid (C:\...\STARTUP\$TbRun9.dot) appears. What is wrong?

You've missed out a bit of the filename, but the general idea is that you've
deleted the TBRun97.dot add-in and left the owner file ~$TBRun97.dot. You
need to remove that from the Startup folder as well. This is a TextBridge
(OCR) add-in intended for Word 97, which does not work in Word 2002.
