Default How do you center text in a cell vertically, rather than horizonta

On the formatting toolbar, there is only an option to center text in the
middle of a page, table or cell.

How do you center text vertically within a cell, so that the text has equal
space above and below?

In a table cell, you can use the Vertical Alignment command to align text
Top, Center, or Bottom. Recent versions of Word offer only "Cell Alignment,"
which presents a palette of choices such as Top Left, Top Center, etc. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFm...nmentProbs.htm for how to
restore Word 97's Vertical Alignment command.

In text boxes and frames, Word doesn't provide a vertical alignment option;
instead, you have to align text manually using Space Before or (in text
boxes) by increasing the top text box margin.

For text boxes, you can now align text vertically in Word 2007. :-).
