Why are all my files corrupt when I open an attached word email file?

Default No control over my files

Word documents sometimes corrupt in the e-mail process. Zip them before
attaching. That has the double benefit of reducing file size, which your
dial-up using recipients will appreciate, and reduces security
considerations.

Are you saving to the hard drive before opening the attachment from there -
if not, do so.
