Default word 2000 creates a new sequental document when opening

when i open word, it creates a new document everytime so if you open a blank
document it says document 1 in the upper left corner i close it then open a
new blank doc and it says document 2 and so on how do i fix this ?

Default word 2000 creates a new sequental document when opening

There's nothing to fix. That is normal behaviour; however if you close Word
completely and re-open and the start document isn't Document 1 then see
