If you never want the automatic conversion, clear the "Internet and network
paths with hyperlinks" option on the AutoFormat As You Type tab of the
AutoCorrect dialog box.

On the other hand, if you occasionally want to suppress the conversion, Undo
immediately after Word has created the link.

Default How to stop e-mail address from becoming a link?

WORD 2007

Office Button (top left hand corner)

Word Options (lower right hand corner)

Proofing (on the left hand side) then, on the right hand side, click on
AutoCorrect Options . . .

AutoCorrect window should launch

AutoFormat As You Type tab / there is a box in here called:-

Internet and network paths with hyperlinks

Turn the above off / on as desired and hit OK / OK again.

If my comments have helped please hit Yes.

Thanks.
