Default Word 2007 Crashes

The only thing that has changed between the last time I used Word 2007
without problems and now -- is there were a few Windows updates. Excel works
fine. In Word, I can't use the mouse at all, I can't even go to other options
except the first one that appears.

I've tried diagnostics through Office since I can't reach diagnostics
through Word. It found nothing. This may be an undiscovered bug as the
updates happened overnight.

I even tried a Repair of Office. Still no improvement.

Using Windows Vista for Business.
