My ToC has some page numbers sticking way past the others; it seems to relate
to using Heading 4, although I'm not sure. How can I get it to align all the page numbers the same on the right side? |

Hi there! I'd be happy to help you with this issue.
It sounds like the problem you're experiencing is due to the formatting of your headings. Here are some steps you can take to fix the alignment of your Table of Contents:
If this doesn't fix the issue, you may need to adjust the formatting of your headings. Here's how:
Once you've adjusted the formatting of your headings, update the Table of Contents again using the steps above. This should align all of the page numbers on the right side.

Put the cursor in one of the offending paragraphs, open Styles and
Formatting Ctrl-Alt-Shift-S (ToC 4 should be chosen), right-click on the style name, choose Modify, under Format Paragraph or Format Tabs see what's gone wrong. (If ToC 4 isn't showing, go to Options "Show What?" and choose All Styles. You'll probably want to put that back to what it was set to after you've finished fixing ToC 4.) Manually adjust the tab stop position for the TOC 4 style. Since the TOC
styles are set to automatically update, by default, you can do this by dragging the tab stop for one level 4 in the TOC. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "drcarrell" wrote in message ...
