Word has millions of templates, but just trying to simply find a payslip
template - temporarily hired a casual and don't want to go and buy a 10-pack
of 50-sheet payslip pads for a dozen pays. But can't find online a payslip
template.

What do you mean by a payslip? Something that keeps track of hours worked?

Get an old one, white-out the content, photocopy it.
