Default How can I change the colors in the highlighter ?

I don't like the dark colors available for the highlighter. Can I change
them to some lighter colors of my choice?

No, the highlight colours can not be changed.

You can achieve a similar effect using Shading (Format Borders and
Shading), and use any colours you like for that.
