Default Ruler in Word 2003

Word for Windows 2003

If feel pretty dumb.... When I open word with a new document, the horizobtal
ruler has left and right a grey area that indicates the "empty" space on the
document. Now I must have done something with the vertical ruler. It starts
at "0" and the cursor ist at very upper edge. It doesn't matter what view I
select.

Please help me get this back to "normal".

Many thanks, Richard

In Word, click on Tools | Options | View | check the "White space
between pages" box | OK.
