Text box placement in book layout
I'm trying (with emphasis on the word "trying") to typeset a book for a
friend of mine. I've done it once before and it turned out well--but it was ten years ago and I used WordPerfect. The author has a text box that spans a couple of pages and I can't get the text box to behave. It seems to disappear in the "cracks" between the pages instead of flowing to the next page. I've tried everything I know and I still can't figure it out. What in the world can I do to get it to flow to the next page. I know I must be overlooking some simple solution, but my brain is fried at the moment. Thanks for all you've done for me and others! |

Do you really need to use a text box? What effect are you trying to
achieve. -- Hope this helps. Please reply to the newsgroup unless you wish to avail yourself of my services on a paid consulting basis. I should have known that, Graham. Thanks for reminding me.

Text box placement in book layout
I haven't yet developed enough confidence in the area of book layout to tell
a client that what he wants is not practicable. But I can see that I'll have to develop it if I try another book, Doug. Even if it had worked, it would have looked stupid. Thanks for your reply, Doug. You've been a lot of help in the past, too! "Doug Robbins - Word MVP" wrote: Do you really need to use a text box? You can put the information into a table--in line with text. Or, you can try
a border around the text. Depends on what you want. Pam Island Girl wrote: I haven't yet developed enough confidence in the area of book layout to tell a client that what he wants is not practicable.
