Double spacing instead of single
I'm using Word 2003. I've created a letterhead page which contains a footer.
My heading is larger font but not a "header" (should this have a bearing on my problem. My problem is that when I start typing it is double spacing even though it is is setup and shows to be in single space mode. I can't seem to fix this. Would appreciate any and all help. Thanks! |

In the Format Paragraph dialog, make sure there is no Spacing Before/After.
Also note that your use of the words "heading" and "header" are almost certainly reversed (and I'm not sure where the "footer" comes into it). But if you don't have "Define styles based on your formatting" disabled (Tools | AutoCorrect Options | AutoFormat As You Type), Word has likely applied a Heading style to your text, and Heading styles do have both Space Before and Space After. -- Suzanne S. Note that Auto may still give you some space. If you don't want any, set it
to 0. -- Suzanne S.
