Can outlining be turned off?
I would like to turn off outlining altogether in Word, so that when I type in
a number and some text and hit return it doesn't indent and auto number points. |

Go to Tools AutoCorrect Options AutoFormat As You Type (note that
this is a different tab from just "AutoFormat"). Uncheck the boxes for "Automatic bulleted lists" and "Automatic numbered lists". You should probably turn off just about everything in that tab, except possibly "Internet and network paths". See http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Format...AutoFormat.htm for a discussion. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
