What description? You turn off the Startup task pane by clearing the "Show
at startup" box in the task pane. If that doesn't work, get the TaskPaneController add-in from http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...owTaskPane.htm -- Suzanne S. Andy is referring to is the instructions in Word 2003 Help:
http://office.microsoft.com/assistan...yID=vet61Ewxi0 Quote: -------------- Use this procedure to prevent the task pane from opening automatically when you start Microsoft Office Word 2003. 1. Close all documents and WordMail messages. 2. On the Tools menu, click Options. 3. On the View tab, clear the Startup Task Pane check box. 4. Exit Word. --------------- Kinda hard to access the Options dialog box when there isn't a document open. Hmmm...could it be they plan on implementing one of our wishes?? To allow access to the Options dialog without an open document?? Wishful thinkging aside, more like they didn't test their directions. Although I guess they they at least *tried* to make sure users don't encounter the issue of modifying options when more than one document is open where the options in effect for the last closed document is what updates the Registry and if you don't close the correct document window last your modifications are discarded. Oh well, I sent them my feeback... -- Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup.
