Fillin Fields in Headers and Footers
I have creaed fillin fields throughout my document. I have put them in my
header and footer. When I open a new document the first field that asks me a question is either the one that was in the footer or the header (it comes up even before the document comes up). It then comes up again in order. How do I keep it from coming up twice. All the other fillin fields work just fine!! Also I want my document file name and path to automatically update when I save the document. How can I do that as well? Thanks in advance for any assistance. -- Diane |

Fillin Fields in Headers and Footers
Don't put Fill-In Fields in your header or footer. You already know why.
Consider DocProperty fields and use custom or built-in document properties if you must. What are you trying to put in the header/footer? Take a look at http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/File_Name_And_Path.htm. Fillin Fields in Headers and Footers
Thanks for that link. That helps.
What I am doing with the fillin fields is setting up forms. One in particular is a pleading (legal) form. One of the questions asks for the typist to put the "summary of the pleading" in the footer. The other issue is updating the name in the second page header of a letter. -- Diane "Charles Kenyon" wrote: Don't put Fill-In Fields in your header or footer. You already know why.
