Wanted:
Table 1 The Number of Times Ben Goes to the Store Table 2 Average Age of Tomatoes The "the" when updating doesn't hold the tab. The result is Table 1The Number of..... and I have to go in and put a manual tab. THis is a pain if you have long List of Tables. When I update the style to match the selection, it still doesn't hold. What is the trick? -- Janet A. |

Do you have a tab in the table caption itself? If so, you can add the \w
switch to the TOC field, and the tab will be preserved. You'll probably need to add a tab stop for it in the TOC style (unless you have Compatibility Options set to automatically add a tab stop at the hanging indent position). -- Suzanne S.
