Default how do I reformat a floppy disc

I was using Microsoft 2000. I saved all my info to floppy. Now I have
Microsoft XP and have installed Microsoft Office 2003. I cannot open any
word or excel files. The messagfe tells me I need to reformatt my floppy.
Will I lose all the info by doing this.

You most certainly will!
You should never save to or open files from a floppy disc. It is the most
common cause of document corruption.
Copy the files to the hard drive and if necessary try the repair on open
option (little arrow next to the open button in the file open dialog).
If you are lucky you will be able to recover the documents.
